The History of Our Self Adjusting Technology Adjustable Air Beds
 In the early 1990s, we began making air mattresses with pressure relieving surfaces to help hospitals prevent and treat decubitus ulcers (bed sores). The need for a better mattress transpired as traditional inner spring and foam beds simply could not provide the pressure relief necessary to address the problem of patients developing bed sores. In 1999, the chairman John Wilkinson invented our first air mattresses featuring our innovative Self Adjusting Technology. This state-of-the-art technology provides instantaneous pressure relief regardless of the individual’s body type, weight or sleep position. It was this technology that provided such comfort for patients that we began receiving requests for these same beds for the home. |
